Managing our estates

Last modified 23/02/10 at 14:35

As a large social landowner we have a duty to respect and protect the environment and manage and maintain our estates to ensure they are clean, tidy and safe. We also set aside a large budget every year for estate refurbishments, such as better fencing, more off-road parking or 'soft' landscaping. We consult local residents on any proposed refurbishments, and welcome suggestions for future work.

Our Neighbourhood Housing Officers (58 KB) are responsible for the day-to-day management of our estates and visit their 'patches' regularly.

Our leaflet 'Outside your Home' (715 KB)sets out our service standards relating to:

  • Estate visits and inspections;
  • Dealing with untaxed and abandoned cars;
  • Repairing faulty estate lighting;
  • Making sure timeclocks are accurate;
  • Removing dumped rubbish
  • Investigating reports of abandoned homes;
  • Removing graffiti.

Any problems, such as abandoned cars or grafitti, shoud be reported to the appropriate Neighbourhood Housing Officer.

Our Neighbourhood Housing Officers carry out formal quarterly estate inspections (67 KB) and residents are welcome to come along.
