Transferring if already an MVHA tenant

Last modified 11/11/09 at 12:01

I am already an MVHA Tenant – how do I apply for a transfer?

The process for a current tenant is the same as for a new applicant for housing. This means that you need to apply to the Choice Based Letting System with the District Council. Please see the information above regarding Joining the Choice Based Letting System.

In order to be eligible you have to:-

1. Hold an ‘Assured Tenancy’ agreement. This means that tenants who have joined as Starter Tenants, (Assured Shorthold Tenancy), have to complete one year maintaining their tenancy satisfactorily and become an assured tenant before being eligible to apply for a transfer.

2. Demonstrate that you have maintained your tenancy conditions e.g. maintained a clear rent account or not committed any anti-social behaviour.

3. Have maintained your property in good order. Please note that all applicants for a transfer will have their property inspected.
