We made a whole range of commitments to residents when Mole Valley Housing Association was launched, and this is where we’re up to on our key promises.

Our promises are laid out in the transfer offer document (1.4 MB)that was sent out to all tenants in 2007.

Major home improvements

Delivering a £52m programme to improve your homes over five years (from 2008-2012) and giving you as much choice as possible at the same time.

So far...

Three contractors have been appointed; Mears, Apollo and United House. To date they have completed 2736 major home improvements including:
* 603 new kitchens
* 771 new bathrooms
* 131 rewires
* 708 electrical upgrades
* 484 new heating systems
* 23 new roofs

Estate improvements

Improving security in our neighbourhoods with £1m towards street lighting and mobile CCTV.

So far...

Additional lighting has been installated at Chequers Close, Southey Court, Brookers House and Middlemead Close. The mobile CCTV unit has already helped bring one person to court for criminal damage.

Disabled adaptations

Investing £1m in providing aid and adaptations service for disabled residents.

So far...

220 major applications have now been received with 77 completed, the majority of which are level access showers and a further 45 agreed in principle.

Decorating service

Introducing a free decorating service for older residents and residents with disabilities.

So far...

We’ve worked out the criteria and are piloting the scheme.The scheme will be advertised to residents in the winter issue of Home Matters.

Resident involvement

To involve residents in everything we do.

So far...

We have six residents on our board and we’re working closely with the Mole Valley Resident Involvement Group too. A significant budget in place encourage resident involvement.

There’s a whole range of groups you can become involved in such as Repairs Group, Policy Group and Operations Working Group. Residents also undertake mystery shopping, help monitor our performance or take part in local resident groups.

For more information please contact the residential involvement team on
01306 505 529.

We report to our Board at every meeting on progress made against each of our promises. If you would like to know how we are doing in more detail please have a look at Promises update (598 KB) and Board Report 200510 - Montioring delivery of promises (190 KB)
