Services include helping people to move into their new homes, providing support to access benefits and providing a platform for people to enhance their life chances. Staff provide tenancy management and advice services on areas including anti-social behaviour, neighbour issues, repairing and improving properties.
An adaptations service is also provided to enable people with disabilities to get around their own homes and access the community. The division works with a range of support providers including EPIC Trust to provide holistic services to older people and vulnerable tenants.
We organise regular service charge surgeries and there is annual tenant consultation on the service charge for the coming year: this includes communal furniture, ground maintenance, gardening, and commercial laundry equipment.
The Specialist Housing Management team also works in partnership with 22 managing agents to provide delegated Housing Management services on our behalf.
Managing agents work with a large range of client groups, including single homeless people, people with Learning Disabilities and those living in Registered Care homes and provide accommodation-based support with drugs alcohol, dual diagnosis, learning and physical disabilities.
Annual Risk Assessments and a monitoring programme with individually tailored action plans are regularly carried out to ensure managing agents are continuously checked.
