South Anglia at its annual Community Spirit events, in which residents are encouraged to nominate neighbours and those that work in their communities for a range of awards.

Vineries resident Francis on the left and Project Manager, Annita Barker next to him. The Vineries, in Dagenham, is one of Circle Anglia’s independent living centres and provides accommodation and support to young people aged 16 -25 who are statutorily homeless.

Mo Ceesay at Old Ford's Construction Training Centre in Bow. Mo Ceesay was working in a gym when he learned about the construction training course run by Old Ford Housing Association. He signed up and now works for Old Ford helping to teach other youngsters on the course as a construction workshop technician.

Paul Fountain is a local Fenland resident. When he separated from his wife recently he couldn’t afford to buy a home outright so he went into shared ownership at Finkle court.

Peter Peter
A new initiative between Invicta Telecare and Kent Adult Social Services has enabled six adults with learning difficulties to move into their own home at two locations in Tonbridge. Peter was part of this initiative and he is thrilled that he is now living in his own home. With support from his support officer, Peter is enjoying learning to cook and does his own ironing.

John Phillip benefitted from a new bathroom and kitchen this year. He was impressed with the speed and professionalism of the service; “The process was well handled and I have been delighted by the end result. A date was fixed for the work to be carried out, the workmen turned up and did their thing and I have nothing but good things to say about how it all looks.”

Debbie Thorpe has recently had a brand new bathroom and kitchen fitted in her home in Highbury Hill, she said; “The difference it has made is unbelievable.”
