Food growing

Last modified 17/08/09 at 17:55

We have responded to growing interest from residents and are actively trying to raise funds to create vegetable plots in and around estates and neighbourhood where people have expressed an interest.

Many people have become aware of potential benefits of this as a means of accessing fresh food, as well as an opportunity for exercise and for enjoying the outdoors.

Food growing can also help with household bills since food prices are on the rise, and it can also have environmental benefits, as well as great social benefits since it is a great way of interacting with other neighbours.

If you are interested and know of a possible area within your estate or neighbourhood suitable for the purpose, please get in touch with Mark Rogers in Team for Communities:
